Network Deployment & RF Safety

Curriculum: The network deployment curriculum addresses the job-skills training requirements of the many disciplines involved with the roll-out of wireless networks. It includes courses on wireless industry literacy, project management, site acquisition, construction management, RF radiation safety awareness, and more.

Audience:
Those who want to specialize in a particular network deployment discipline as well as those who wish to acquire a cross-disciplinary perspective, such as in preparation for a management position.

Prerequisites:
Other than any prerequisites specified by the individual courses, the curriculum does not stipulate any general prerequisites.

Curriculum Recommendations:
To help network deployment specialists enhance their cross-functional awareness and prepare for a management role, the WI-LCC offers three levels of deployment curricula that give them a progressively broader view of the deployment process.

Network Deployment I (ND I)
Those who wish to specialize in an area of deployment while developing some cross-functional awareness, should take at least five days of training consisting of at least three courses from the Disciplines group.

Network Deployment II (ND II)
Those preparing for a deployment manager role should take at least 10 days of training that must include at least two courses from the Program Management group. (Any courses already taken as part of the level I curriculum can be used to satisfy the requirements for the level II curriculum.)

Network Deployment III (ND III)

Those who wish to go beyond the deployment-specific job-skills to also enhance their general management skills should satisfy all of the level II requirements plus take at least five additional days of training consisting of at least three management development courses offered by the Institute (see the Management Skills program described later in this guide).
