Circuit Designer

Title: Circuit Designer

Location: Pleasanton, CA. Plano, TX

Available Positions: 3

The ideal candidates will be performing transport circuit design as well as supporting cell site and BSC circuit rehomes.

Experience & Skills Required:

Understanding of 2.5G/3.0G
Experience designing OC12, OC3, STS1, DS3, DS1 & DS0 level circuits in Granite
Design Trunk Groups in Granite (PSTN, E911, IMT etc.)
Basic Transport Planning responsibilities
Responsible for creating cut sheets for the implementation of all Transport plans
Auditing current Granite paths (circuit designs) as well as creating new ones with all relevant data (cross connects, port assignments etc.) in Granite
Provisioning all cross connects in the ATM Network using Alcatel NMS
Identify spare ports
Target MSC/BSC using Ericsson Citrix Client Server (BSC/MSC)
Knowledge of all interconnecting transmission equipment (1631, ATM, 5500) etc. Using Alcatel NMS, Alcatel 1631 LMC, Alcatel 5620, Metro watch, FP 5.0 (5500)
Knowledgeable on Passive Network elements (DSX, FDP) by querying Granite and verification from the markets
Working when necessary with market and LEC personnel during the maintenance window for facilities migration

Experience using the following platforms/tools:

Metro watch
Alcatel NMS (ATM + 1631)
Tellabs 5500/532
Granite
Homer
Ericsson BSC/MSC
