Position will be responsible for planning, designing and network analysis and engineering of data, voice and video networks for the enterprise.
Work closely with clients, vendors, carriers, and other technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements.
Develop models, plans, diagrams, illustrations, and procedures in support of engineering initiatives and network related trouble-tickets.
Develop options, recommendations and associated cost benefits, and provide engineering design for implementation.
Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools and technologies for voice, data and video networks.
Assess emerging technologies and make recommendations to Access Network management.
Oversee, certify and assist in implementation and support of the enterprise wide network.
Candidate may also issue briefings, reports, and recommendations for network improvements. In this regard, a successful candidate should have good communications skills and be able to explain complex technologies to both technical and business audiences alike.
Required Experience:
Advanced knowledge MPLS VPN and MPLS TE technologies and design.
Hands on experience with enterprise series routers and switches, and also experience with Metro-E, EPL, as well BGP and OSPF.
Advanced knowledge of data networking: TCP/IP, Ethernet, OSPF, MPLS, ATM, Layer 1-7 protocols, SNMP, routing, switching, VPN, VOIP, QOS etc.
Intermediate knowledge of UMTS network architecture.
Intermediate knowledge of SONET architecture.
Intermediate knowledge of DWDM technologies.
Intermediate knowledge of Circuit Switch Technologies.
Experience with the network routers/switches from the following vendors: Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia-Siemens, Cisco, and Juniper.
Requires industry standard certifications in a relevant network technology field: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) and/or Juniper (JNCIE, JNCIS, JNCIA).
Computer skills: Windows, UNIX, Microsoft Office.
Education Required
B.S.Degree in Engineering and/or Telecommunications
