WiMAX has the ability to augment limited wired infrastructure existence in developing countries, especially in rural areas. Due to that ability it has come to be known as a "last-mile" solution. It also meets the needs of western nations seeking additional solutions to compete with Fixed telecommunications providers. Standards have been defined for both Fixed WiMAX (802.16-2004 or 802.16d) and Mobile WiMAX (802.16-2005 or 802.16e).
LCC has garnered significant experience in WiMAX, having worked with some of the world's pre-eminent manufacturers and operators to launch the first mobile WiMAX networks. LCC's WiMAX offering spans the network evolution chain, from strategic consulting such as business case analysis, to conducting technology and market trials, followed by network implementation through professional radio, backhaul, and core network engineering services as well as various network and content testing and optimization services.
