Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Skill Set:

  • Six Sigma skills preferred
  • Advanced skills in MS Project desired.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to interface, creating a positive working relationship with Information Services related organizational divisions external to Client.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and the expertise to translate technical terminology into terms understandable by management, department heads and performance level personnel.
  • Seven or more years of management experience showing increasing responsibility to include personnel, capital and operation expense budgeting responsibilities.
  • Four or more years experience managing a Program/Project Management Office.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and building an effective Program/Project Management Office.
  • Experience managing large corporate change initiatives involving PMI methodology roll out and organizational change.
  • Experience implementing or managing a telecommunication governance program in a large organization using functions such as project management, resource demand management, time tracking etc.
  • Experience in telecommunications and networking systems, with practical experience in network operations and systems analysis
  • Strong leadership characteristics; self-confidence, and is able to articulate issues.
  • Ability to plan, direct and coordinate activities of a telecommunications support group.
  • Demonstrated ability in high-level problem solving.
  • Possess managerial skills that empower and develop others; fosters teamwork.
  • Demonstrated stewardship in the application of ethics and the use of resources. Is sensitive to social and cultural issues.
  • Understanding of the public safety radio networks implementations and operations.
  • Ability to solve highly complex technical, organizational, operational, and people problems.
  • Technical knowledge of telecommunications, system integration, operation, and conversions.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting.

 

Years of Experience Required: Seven plus relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities: Managing the Project Management Office (PMO) which is the focal point of all telecommunication system related project management activities with the Client.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership and direction to the PMO and to the project management practice across the Client
  • Develop and implement an organization Project Management Process
  • Provide project managers with the methodology, tools, training, and mentoring required to complete projects successfully in terms of schedule, and scope in accordance with the defined Client’s process
  • Integrate Project Management into the Client’s performance management process
  • Measure the project completion performance of telecommunication system projects
  • Plan, execute, and monitor activities in support of the PMO mission Support the successful execution of strategic projects
