EV-DO, which provisions high speed data services on a separate 1.25 MHz channel, is optimal when adding high speed data to a CDMA2000/1xRTT network. The separation of traffic through the use of 1xRTT, primarily for voice and low-speed data, and 1xEV-DO for high speed data provides a graceful technological evolution, optimized for high-speed data (IP) traffic.
LCC works with existing IS-95A/B.
EV-DO enables IS-95A/B and CDMA2000/1xRTT network operators to provide 3.5G and 4G wireless services through the introduction of high speed packet data, which improves the data experience and enables additional types of content. Together, LCC and its partners, optimize EV-DO as well as 1xRTT network and content performance for network operators, infrastructure vendors, MVNO’s, content providers and other players in the wireless ecosystem.
